Description
After extensive testing in our coffee lab, we’ve discovered that the MyWeigh Barista scale hits a sweet spot in the market for coffee enthusiasts seeking quality without excessive costs.
The coffee scale market presents an interesting divide. You’ll find numerous options under £20, and plenty of premium choices above £100, but the middle ground around £30 is surprisingly sparse.
In this price bracket, the MyWeigh Barista stands out as a remarkably solid choice. While it does have one minor quirk—a rather enthusiastic beeping feature—you’ll be pleased to know there’s a simple fix for that (we’ve included the steps below).

Performance Analysis
The scale’s footprint is substantial at nearly 15x15cm, so you’ll want to measure your workspace before purchasing.
In our precision tests, we found the accuracy more than sufficient for both filter coffee and espresso brewing. While the response time isn’t quite as swift as premium models like the Rhino Stealth, Timemore Blackmirror, or the lightning-quick Acaia Lunar, it’s perfectly adequate for consistent brewing.
The built-in timer function works brilliantly, and there’s also a countdown feature (though we haven’t found much use for it in our daily brewing routines).
For power, it uses a Micro USB charging system. While not the most current technology, most households have spare cables readily available. We suspect future iterations might update this feature.
Long-term Durability
What truly impresses us is the scale’s robust construction. Our test unit has weathered two years of intensive use in our busy test kitchen, handling multiple daily brewing sessions without any decline in performance.
Disabling the Beep
The persistent beeping during timing is our only real gripe. Fortunately, here’s our tested method to silence it:
- Turn the scale ON, then press and hold the timer button until the display flashes “00 00” or “00 01”
- Press “unit” to reduce the number of minutes to 00, then press the timer button
- Press “unit” to reduce the number of seconds also to 00 (so the reading is now 00:00), then press the timer button to confirm
After this simple process, you’ll enjoy peaceful, beep-free brewing sessions.
